All you need is love ♥♥♥♥

Making someone else feel special is what Valentine’s Day is all about, and we sure witnessed this in our “All You Need Is Love” volunteer event.

Last Saturday, friends, families, singles, couples, and longtime St. Anthony’s volunteers all came together to spread the love and make someone else feel special—the quintessence of Valentine’s Day celebrations.

Our volunteers had three hours to put together 2,000 “hug and kiss” gifts—an ambitious goal, especially as mimosas and small bites were involved. Each “hug and kiss” present included scarves (as the hugs), Hershey’s chocolate kisses (as the kisses), cute notes, and a ribbon to tie it all together. These gifts will be passed out on Valentine’s Day to our neighbors in the Tenderloin.

“This event was unique because it highlighted our community—volunteers from all over the Bay Area came together to help make someone else have a special Valentine’s Day”, said Dolores Gould, one of the masterminds behind the event.
