Dr. Keith Humphreys
Dr. Keith Humphreys, Ph.D., is the Esther Ting Memorial Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. He has researched substance use disorders for over 30 years and worked to translate scientific findings into more effective addiction-focused treatment services and public policies.
Professor Humphreys has been extensively involved in the formation of public policy. He has testified to U.S. House and Senate Committees, served on the White House Commission on Drug-Free Communities during the Bush Administration and served as Senior Policy Advisor in the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy under President Obama. He has also worked to improve addiction-related services and policies in other countries including Iraq, Canada, and the United Kingdom. To recognize his contributions to addiction-related services and scholarship in Great Britain, Queen Elizabeth II made him an Honorary Officer in the Order of the British Empire in 2022.
