St. Anthony’s 3rd Annual Leading the Way Awards Gala Celebrates Community Visionaries and Life-Changing Services

On October 24, St. Anthony Foundation hosted its 3rd annual Leading the Way Awards Gala at the Terra Gallery in San Francisco. This memorable evening recognized community leaders who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to advancing health equity, supporting families in crisis, and helping individuals break the cycle of poverty and addiction.
With proceeds benefiting St. Anthony’s essential services, the event drew over 300 supporters. Attendees enjoyed delicious cuisine, cocktails, guest testimonials, and artwork in celebration of the evening’s honorees and the collective impact they’ve made on the San Francisco community.
2024 Award Recipients:
- Leading the Way Impact Award (Organization): Stanford Medicine
Stanford Medicine was honored for advancing health equity by connecting student clinicians to vulnerable populations. Their collaboration with St. Anthony’s and other Bay Area clinics has provided low-barrier access to specialty care and mental health services. - Leading the Way Impact Award (Individual): Suzanne Giraudo
Suzanne Giraudo, founder of De Marillac Academy and a key member of St. Anthony’s Clinic Committee, was instrumental in creating a clinical behavioral health program for Women’s and Children’s Services, providing critical support for those affected by domestic violence. - Leading the Way Emerging Leader: Zachary Barulich
Zachary Barulich, a third-generation leader at BiRite Foodservice Distributors, continues his family’s legacy by ensuring St. Anthony’s Father Alfred Center receives nutritious, high-quality food. His commitment to fostering community relationships through BiRite Foodservice Distributor’s dedication to service makes him a shining example of leadership. - Leading the Way Community Philanthropist Award: Timothy Dunn
Timothy Dunn, Emeritus Chair of St. Anthony’s Board of Directors, was honored for his visionary leadership in transforming the organization into a self-sustaining, donor-funded entity. His efforts have paved the way for innovative programs like the Hygiene Hub and food storage pantries for guests.
A Night to Remember:
The event was hosted by KTVU Fox 2 News Anchor Heather Holmes and featured powerful stories from St. Anthony’s community members, including CEO Dr. Larry Kwan and Father Alfred Center graduate Brandon Clark. Their testimonies highlighted the life-changing impact of St. Anthony’s services.
“Tonight’s award winners showed up in heroic ways that allow this foundation to show up for our guests with the highest levels of respect, compassion, and care,” said CEO Dr. Larry Kwan. “They truly are leading the way.”
