SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 10, 2024 – St. Anthony Foundation is thrilled to announce its participation in the upcoming Heroes and Helpers Target Event, a community-driven initiative that spreads holiday cheer to local families while fostering connections between children and first responders.
Taking place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Target San Francisco West Store, the event will bring together over 150 participants, including children, families, officers from local law enforcement, and firefighters. This unique holiday event is designed to inspire joy, build community bonds, and provide a meaningful shopping experience for families in need. Hot cocoa and sweet treats will also be provided.
According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, over 11,000 children live below the federal poverty threshold in San Francisco. This statistic underscores the importance of initiatives like the Heroes and Helpers event, which provides holiday gifts to children in need, fostering joy and community support during the holiday season.
“Heroes and Helpers is a testament to the power of community,” said Dr. Larry Kwan, CEO of St. Anthony Foundation. “We are honored to partner with Target, the police and fire departments, and other local nonprofits to bring smiles to children and families during the holiday season.”
