Dozens of helping hands, including foundation team members, donors, and volunteers, to assemble essential items to give to hundreds of people in need on November 21
WHAT: Giving Thanks on Golden Gate Preparation Day
WHY: St. Anthony Foundation, committed to providing pathways to stability for thousands of San Franciscans in need annually, is throwing its 2nd annual block party, Giving Thanks of Golden Gate, on Tuesday, November 21. As part of the holiday event, St. Anthony’s team members and volunteers will spread holiday cheer and hand out hygiene kits, warm socks, hats, scarves, holiday cookies and hot chocolate.
To prepare for the block party, a Prep Day will be held on Saturday, November 18 beginning at 11:00 a.m., when team members, volunteers, and donors will assemble hundreds of warm winter items for our neighbors in need, including hats, scarves, hygiene kits, “no sew” blankets, and warm socks.
“The holiday season is a heart-warming time of year for many of us, but not for all of us. We are blessed to be in a position to give back to our neighbors who might be struggling. This is our way of giving thanks to our caring community of donors, volunteers, team members and Tenderloin neighbors,” said St. Anthony Foundation CEO Nils Behnke. “We had a record rainy season last winter, and we hope these warm winter essentials will help our guests weather any storms this year. More than anything, we want them to know that we care.”
