St. Anthony Foundation and Father Alfred Center Residents take in a day at the park
August 9, 2023
Nothing says summer like a day at the ballpark. On Thursday, August 3rd the San Francisco Giants invited St. Anthony’s to the ballpark as their Community Clubhouse Partner. The community clubhouse is located on the stadium concourse and is where the Giants’ community partner for the day is able to highlight their work.
Members of St. Anthony’s fundraising team spent the game tabling on the concourse level – sharing how St. Anthony’s works to help uplift those in need. It was a great opportunity to talk to hundreds of people, many of them having never heard of St. Anthony’s. In addition to being the Community Clubhouse Partner, St. Anthony’s work was highlighted on the jumbotron in the middle of the third inning.
At the same time, the residents of the Father Alfred Center, St. Anthony’s addiction recovery center, were able to take in the game from the stands. FAC residents are in the process of going through a year-long, substance-abuse recovery program. Isaiah, a relatively new resident at FAC, says, “I love Father Alfred Center. Being here has already brought me deep insight into myself. It is a great place and fun environment. The staff shows a high level of professionalism and is very attentive to the needs of us residents.” Lou Seal made an appearance to greet the residents of FAC and congratulate the residents graduating to the next phase of the recovery program.
