Launched on September 18, 2023, St. Anthony’s unveiled the Welcome Center on the Golden Gate Greenway, the 100 block of Golden Gate Avenue.

The primary goal of the Welcome Center on the Golden Gate Greenway is to ensure that guests of St. Anthony Foundation and community members are effectively connected to the available services and nearby community-based organizations. St. Anthony’s developed a team of highly-qualified Guest Navigators uniquely prepared to engage the city’s most vulnerable community members through a combination of personal lived experience and on-the-job training. The Welcome Center was developed concurrently with St. Anthony’s organizational-wide initiative to integrate services and reduce any barriers to service.

We offer 10 different services ranging from food in the Dining Room to medical care in our Clinic; however, guests may not know about our range of services. That’s exactly why the Welcome Center is here – to work with them on a personal level, treat them with respect and dignity, build relationships with them, and resolve their needs on their path to stability, whether that’s within programs that we offer or other organizations.

St. Anthony Foundation has on-site, and all nearly under one roof, a comprehensive and permanent portfolio of services, including an industrial kitchen and dining room, showers, laundry facility, a free clothing program, social work case management center offering rental assistance, applications to public benefits, and emergency food supplies, a primary care medical clinic, a computer lab and technology center, day shelter, and a residential substance abuse treatment facility.

St. Anthony Foundation has served our community for nearly 75 years. Over that time, thanks to the continued support of our private donors, we continue to evolve to introduce innovative services based on best practices, to meet the changing needs of our community.

We understand that recovery for our guests who experience addiction is a journey to stability that often includes relapse. We do not see relapse as a failure but rather an expected part of the recovery process. Guest Navigators at the Welcome Center are often former guests who were in the shoes of our guests at one time in their lives and know their needs and strengths intimately. Our navigators connect with guests on a deeply personal level, build trust, and can effectively connect guests to the individual services needed on their path to stability.
