Program Referrals Equal Added Value for Guests

As the Client Database Manager, I do monthly reports for the Social Work Center.  This month I noticed a large increase in Clinic Referrals.

Victor Ramos, the Social Work Center’s clinic liaison, said that a lot of the guests he sees from the clinic need assistance applying for benefits, such as unemployment or disability assistance. The process for applying for these safety net services can be confusing and frustrating for our guests. The social work center is experienced in this process and can support and help clients with these applications.

Victor recently assisted a clinic patient who lost her employment due to a disability. Victor was able to help and support her through the application process, and she obtained assistance in less than 2 weeks. Stabilizing her income in turn stabilized her housing, because she was able to afford her rent. The communication between Clinic and Social Work Center resulted in a whole series of stabilizing outcomes for this guest.
