Housing Search Workshop
This spring, the Tenderloin Technology Lab and the Social Work Center began collaborating to help guests navigate the world of affordable housing. Finding affordable housing in San Francisco can be a long and complicated process, but can also be simplified through the use of technology. Guests can now apply for available rental units online, and can organize and track progress on their search in an Excel spreadsheet. These workshops teach guests computer skills that will help them access essential services to achieve stability.
The workshop is held once a month in a Tech Lab classroom, where each guest can work at a computer, and is jointly taught by Sarah from the Social Work Center and Tammy from the Tech Lab. The next housing workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 29th, and should once again provide an example of innovative collaboration in action.
