Green Team Revival Meeting–Updates

I’m happy to report that there were a lot of great ideas that came out of the Green Team’s Revival  brain storm meeting.  Our goal is to be “0” Waste or as close to it in the near future. 

Listed below are some of the ideas that were discussed and may soon be implemented:

• ANOTHER STAFF WIDE “WHAT IS COMPOSTABLE, WHAT IS RECYCLABLE” TRAINING
• Change from plastic to compostable coffee stirrers
• Purchase teas that are not individually wrapped or wrapped in compostable packaging
• Purchase bulk, fair trade, ground coffee; eliminating wrap packaging for each pot of coffee brewed
• Eliminate individual creamer packages.  Possibly purchase fresh milk weekly
• Conserve energy. Remind staff to turn off lights and computers
• Reduce use of copy paper,  (contest  between work units is being developed)

The Green Team left the meeting invigorated and inspired;  ready to help keep our working environment and community GREEN.
