Drop-In Hours: One of Many Gateways to Services

Three times a week the Social Work Center has drop-in hours to assist with clients’ access to services. We were hopeful that this would increase St. Anthony’s direct service program referrals of clients to the Social Work Center. We discovered that drop-in hours do increase access to services, but were surprised by who it increased access for the most. Drop-in hours are most frequently used by guests referred to St. Anthony’s from the community, either by word of mouth or by outside service providers.

Recently our Social Worker Sarah worked with a family that was a community referral and was able to connect them to other stabilizing services, including our own SAF clinic for health care services. By increasing access to the Social Work Center through drop-in hours, we’re also providing guests with access to five new services that will in turn further their stability.
