St. Anthony Foundation Spreads Holiday Cheer with a Special Gift-Wrapping Event

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 20, 2024 – St. Anthony Foundation is hosting its annual Holiday Gift-Wrapping Event on Friday, December 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 150 Golden Gate Avenue, San Francisco, CA. Volunteers from across the community, including local businesses like the Hilton, will come together to wrap hundreds of gifts for 38 families who are guests of St. Anthony’s Resource Center. These gifts, generously donated by Gap Foundation, will provide children and families in need with a brighter holiday season filled with joy and hope.

This event highlights the importance of giving back and supporting those in need, especially during the holidays. Families in the Tenderloin neighborhood face significant challenges, with over 26% living below the poverty line and a median household income of just $19,094, according to the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Many rely on organizations like St. Anthony Foundation, which provides meals, essential resources, and moments of joy during the holiday season. This year’s gift-wrapping event will unite the community to share warmth and hope with Tenderloin families.

“St. Anthony’s is grateful for the help of the Resource Center, volunteer community and Gap Foundation in providing gifts to families in need in the Tenderloin community during a season when feeling blessed comes from being remembered and loved,” said CEO Dr. Larry Kwan. “Their generosity is a true blessing, and St. Anthony’s hopes they feel blessed in the act of giving.”
