WHAT: For more than 70 years, St. Anthony’s has provided a warm meal on Christmas Day to those in need. This year, St. Anthony’s expects to serve more than 1,500 meals with the support of 60 volunteers who will bus tables, serve, and most importantly offer community and connection with our guests.

To serve this many people, St. Anthony’s kitchen staff has prepared 400 pounds of ham, 160 pounds of veggie patties, and 200 pounds of brownies.

WHO: St. Anthony Foundation

WHEN: Sunday, December 25, 2022. Lunch service from 10:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

WHERE: St. Anthony Foundation Dining Room, 121 Golden Gate Ave. near Jones Street, First Floor, San Francisco, CA 94102

WHY: As an organization rooted in 800-plus-year Franciscan values, St. Anthony’s believes that on Christmas, and every day, we’re called to serve those most in need with the dignity and respect that each person deserves. St. Anthony’s is more than a dining room and has provided community, hope, stability, and renewal for those in need for more than seven decades. The St. Anthony’s dining room can serve as a bridge to other services offered, including medical care, mental health care, a recovery program, job training, and more.

“Opening our doors and hearts to our neighbors in need on Christmas and every day of the year is what we’re all about,” said Nils Behnke, CEO, St. Anthony’s. “Our mission at St. Anthony’s is to create a welcoming community for everyone, and to provide pathways to stability for the most vulnerable San Franciscans. That journey toward renewal often begins here in the Dining Room with a warm meal.”
